Superficial Injuries

A contusion or bruise happens when an injured capillary or blood vessel leaks blood into the surrounding area. Contusions are a type of hematoma (any collection of blood outside of a blood vessel).

Laceration (Open Wound)

A laceration is a wound that occurs when skin, tissue, and/or muscle is torn or cut open. Lacerations may be deep or shallow, long or short, and wide or narrow.

Fracture Bone

A fracture, also called a broken bone, is a medical condition in which the bone is damaged and breaks. Fractures happen when a bone is put under too much stress, such as from a fall, a car accident, or a sports injury.

Skin Burn

A skin burn is an injury to the skin that occurs when it is exposed to heat, chemicals, or radiation.

Head & Neck Injury

A headache is a pain in the head that is severe enough to interfere with your daily activities.

Shoulder Injury

Ankle Injury

The most common type of sprain is a sprained ankle. About 25,000 people sprain an ankle every day. Think of a runner who goes over a curb and catches her foot, twisting the ankle, or a baseball player who slides into a base and twists his knee.

Elbow Injury

The elbow joint makes it possible to bend and straighten the arm and to rotate the forearm so that the palm of the hand faces up or down.
