Encino Commons’ office can serve all of your needs in one place so you can get back to your life faster. Blood tests help doctors check for diseases and help check the function of your organs. We provide in-house laboratory blood testing at our office so you can avoid the hassle of having to go to different locations. We’re here to get you answers, now!

NOTE: Doctors can’t diagnose diseases and medical issues with blood tests alone. Your doctor may consider other factors to confirm a diagnosis such as symptoms, your medical history, vital signs and results from other tests and procedures.

What Can Blood Tests Check For?

  • Evaluate how well organs such as the kidneys, liver, thyroid, and heart are functioning

  • Diagnose diseases and conditions such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, anemia and heart disease

  • To determine whether you have risk factors for disease

  • Check whether medications you’re taking are functioning properly

  • To confirm your blood is clotting correctly

During a blood test, a minimal amount of blood is taken from you. It’s usually drawn from a vein in your arm using a needle and is typically quick and easy. Most people don’t have serious reactions to having blood drawn; although some short-term discomfort or bruising might be possible. Our lab workers here at Encino Commons draw the blood and analyze it. We use either whole blood or separate blood cells from fluid called plasma. Plasma is used to measure different substances in the blood. The results can help detect health problems in early stages when treatments and lifestyle changes can be enough to remedy any issues.
